Hitting Streak Still Alive for Ream Tuesday, July 3rd , 2007 The Long Beach Titans may have proven to be mere mortals as they lost, 14-8, to the Boston Battalion, but Ryan Ream continued to hit like a god. The third baseman collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "Ream is playing great and is on fire right now," Titans manager Danny Harden said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Ream was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Ryan Ream walked in the 1st, hit a sac fly in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, struck out in the 8th and grounded out in the 10th. At present, Ream is batting .412 with 21 hits and 4 home runs. He has knocked in 11 runs and scored 13 times. |
