Allentown Advances to SPC Classic Series
Saturday, October 13th , 2007
The Allentown Fleetwings are bound for the SPC Classic Series.
A 4-2 win over the Newark Eagles at Fleetwings Ballpark ended the Division Championship Series, 3-1.
"We're not trying to get ahead of ourselves, but it's hard not to get pumped up and excited and think about how this season could end," said Ryan Rogers. "This could be the biggest celebration Allentown has ever seen if we can win the SPC Classic Series."
The state of the Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit championship remains in doubt, but the Fleetwings certainly appear to be strong contenders.
Rogers was named MVP of the Division Championship Series after he posted a .357 batting average, while adding 2 home runs, driving in 6 RBI and scoring 3 runs.
The Allentown Fleetwings will play against the Vacaville Steelheads in the next round. Vacaville won their series against the Southern California Empires 3 games to 1. The SPC Classic Series schedule will be announced after the Division Championship Series finishes.
