Empires Prevail, as Division Series Goes to the Wire Sunday, October 7th , 2007 The Southern California Empires and Las Vegas Rollers hooked up in a classic Division Series that went right down to the wire. In the end, it's Southern California heading off to the Division Championship Series, after a 4-3 win at Empires Stadium tonight earned the 3-2 series win. Outside Empires Stadium, whether they were supporters of Southern California or Las Vegas, many fans talked about how it was a series they would never forget. Kevin Raith played the hero for the Empires in the series, as his MVP performance included a .368 batting average, with a .429 on-base percentage. He also had 1 home runs, 4 RBI and scored 5 runs. The Southern California Empires will play against the Vacaville Steelheads in the next round. Vacaville won their series against the Saskatoon Moose 3 games to 1.
