Hitting Streak Still Alive for Pickering Friday, September 28th , 2007 Haywood Pickering of the Las Vegas Rollers tagged 1 hit in today's 13-1 loss to the Mexico City Aztecas at Estadio Azteca to run his hitting streak to 20 straight games. "I realize it's unlikely to have a 20-game streak and not have a couple losses mixed in," he said later. "But it still takes the fun out of it." Haywood Pickering struck out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. This year, Pickering is batting .291 with 96 hits and 10 home runs. He has scored 56 times and has batted in 38 runs. |
