Earp Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games Saturday, September 8th , 2007 The streak is alive and well -- at least for today. Rick Earp did it again, bashing 2 hits in the contest at Caracals Stadium. For the last 20 games in a row, the 30-year-old right fielder has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Calgary Caracals beat the Mexico City Aztecas, 10-5. "I'm happy I kept the streak going," Earp told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Calgary clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Rick Earp walked in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, walked in a run in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off David Martin in the 8th. This season, Earp has posted a batting average of .325 with 79 hits in 243 at-bats, 9 home runs and 26 RBIs. He has also scored 46 runs, walked 24 times and compiled a .390 OBP. |
