Kaplan Wins Award for SPBC Dominance Wednesday, October 31st , 2007 They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but in the case of Chris Kaplan of the Ottawa Capitals, you don't have to - his old tricks worked just fine in 2007. The 37-year-old veteran turned in a sparkling performance and has won the Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit Reliever of the Year Award. He captured the award with 18 saves in 42 relief appearances, 56 strikeouts and 25 walks in 65.2 innings. He put up a record of 4-4 to go with his 2.33 ERA. He received 13 first place votes out of a possible 16. Frank Cramer of the Quebec City Admirals finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Erik Ritter of the Las Vegas Rollers finished third.
