Cruz Garners WC Top Skipper Award Saturday, November 3rd , 2007 Club officials have reported seeing Leo Cruz at the ballpark as early as 7 am. His dedication, coupled with a shrewd management style and a knack for knowing "who's hot and who's not" earned Cruz the Western Circuit Manager of the Year Award for 2007. "I guess you could say I pushed all the right buttons at the right time for the Lions to have the season we did. But keep in mind, too, that I also had a group of dedicated ballplayers who played their hearts out. I thank them for winning this award for me." There was much joy in St. Louis this season. Their beloved Lions took second place in the Western Circuit, rounding out the year with a 54-34 record. |
