Howie Park Named EC's Best Player Monday, October 22nd , 2007 What a way to finish off the year -- being honored with the 2007 Hitter of the Year Award in the Eastern Circuit. It had already been a very special season for Chicago's Howie Park, but today's announcement really put the icing on his cake. All season long Howie Park gave opposing pitchers fits by hitting .334 as he collected 107 hits, 14 doubles, no triples, 26 home runs and 83 RBIs. Kengo Miyake of the Tampa Bay Thunder finished second in voting, while Jim Wermter of the Atlanta Pilots finished third. |
