Vacaville Breaks Through for First Win in SPC Classic Series; Now Trails 3-1
The Vacaville Steelheads have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Allentown Fleetwings, winning, 6-3, at Fleetwings Ballpark. Steelheads right-hander Scott Lovely threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Steelheads to 3-1 in the best-of-7 SPC Classic Series.

Vacaville used the timely hitting of Andy Stamer to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Steelheads on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Vacaville manager John Mills.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fleetwings Ballpark in Allentown.
