Rentz Blasts Empires, Steelheads Take Game 3, 5-1
The Vacaville Steelheads moved to within one game of the SPC Classic Series, downing the Southern California Empires on the road at Empires Stadium by a score of 5-1. Steelheads right fielder Zach Rentz was 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The win gives the Steelheads a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Division Championship Series.

In the top of the first, Rentz pounced on a 2-1 splitter from Evan Rodriguez and hit a 2-run home run. It put Vacaville on top, 2-0.

Rentz attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Empires Stadium in San Bernardino.
