Division Championship Series Game 1 Goes to Newark, Thanks to Maytorena
If the Allentown Fleetwings were expecting the pressure of the playoffs to get to Antonio Maytorena, they underestimated the old man.

The Newark Eagles got a strong start from the 38-year-old right-hander. Maytorena threw 9.0 innings of 5-hit ball as Newark won the contest, 8-2, at Eagles Park to take the lead in their best-of-5 series with the Fleetwings. The Eagles now lead 1-0.

Maytorena gave Newark a solid start. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 5 hits over 9 innings.

"Antonio can overpower you," said Newark manager Elijah Jackson.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Eagles Park in Newark.
