Peanuts Edge Thunder, 2-1, to Open PCC
|
The Pro Circuit Cup got off to a quiet start, with the traveling San Francisco Peanuts taking a low-scoring, 2-1 win over the host Tampa Bay Thunder. San Francisco right-hander Ron Clous was marvelous at The Thunder Bowl. The Peanuts now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Tampa Bay had little success against Clous and his fastball. Clous tossed 115 pitches over 7 innings for the Peanuts.
"We're happy," Clous told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Thunder Bowl in Tampa.
