Coyotes Fall Short, 4-3, at Denver
|
The Denver Cutthroats topped the Salt Lake City Coyotes by a score of 4-3. Leading the way was right fielder Tom Smolar. Smolar was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Cutthroats. Zach Haskell went 6.2 innings for Denver to pick up the win. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs. He scattered 3 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 9. His record improves to 6-0. The Cutthroats have an impressive 54-29 record.
Smolar contributed in the bottom of the second. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat among others that helped Denver get the win.
