Shamrocks Pull Out Late Win, 9-8
The Boston Shamrocks gave their fans something to talk about with a thrilling, walk-off win.

The Boston Shamrocks withstood an impressive performance by Philadelphia designated hitter Cody Vannette to defeat the Keystones, 9-8, at Shamrock Grounds. Vannette belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Eric Kolbe picked up the win in relief for Boston, while Chris Harpel took the loss.

The decisive blow was delivered by Dustin Denmark in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off 32-year old right-handed pitcher Jon Snowden to win the game for Boston. The home crowd went nuts.

Shamrocks manager Art Matlock wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."

The Shamrocks sport a record of 27-49.
