Southern California parlayed a decent outing from starter Mobumasu Tsuji into a solid win over the Winnipeg Buffaloes. The final score was 6-3. The winning pitcher was Tsuji, now 9-4. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 9. At 51-36, the Empires are currently second in the West Division.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Riley King? The Southern California right fielder had a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Empires on top, 6-1. For the game, King had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Southern California manager John Andrews was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
