Chargers Rally to Win
|
The Ottawa Capitals could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Pat Winston into a win. Instead, the Detroit Chargers prevailed, 2-1, in 15 innings. Winston threw 12.0 innings of shutout ball. After today's action, Detroit sits at 37-46, while Ottawa falls to 42-41.
Detroit got a game-changing hit from Andy Gugler. The catcher blasted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 15th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a winner.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Detroit manager Carlos Ventura.
