Buffaloes Suffer One-Run Loss at Las Vegas
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Las Vegas Rollers got the win.
The Las Vegas Rollers beat the Winnipeg Buffaloes, 3-2. Las Vegas pitcher and Fort Collins, Colorado, native Jonathan Haymes led the way. Haymes got the win, improving to 11-8. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed 2 runs.
Las Vegas third baseman Daniel Adams contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a sinker to right-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 71st hit of the season and put the Rollers ahead, 3-1.
"Jonathan throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Las Vegas manager Mike Beck.
The win puts Las Vegas at 44-37 this season.
