The Newark Eagles downed the Ottawa Capitals, 2-0, at Capitals Stadium. Stellar pitching by David Waggoner had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who finished 3rd in the SPBC in ERA with 3.09 in 2005, handcuffed his opponent all game. With the win, the Eagles sit at 42-37.

Waggoner earned the win, going 7 strong innings for Newark. The right-hander allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 9. Ottawa hitters had little success against him.
