Calgary Triumphs with Late Surge
|
The Calgary Caracals beat the Southern California Empires, 5-3, at Empires Stadium. Calgary third baseman Cody Stone, who is tied for 8th in the SPBC in doubles with 17, collected 2 singles and 1 double with 1 RBI. The win was credited to 31-year old right-handed pitcher Kasey Felton in relief. His record improves to 4-7. Dustin Underwood took the loss. By defeating Southern California, the 5th-place Caracals improved to 39-36.
Freddy Aguilar, who is tied for 2nd in the SPBC in bases on balls with 67, helped out the Calgary cause in the top of the ninth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder went 1-4 with a walk.
Calgary manager Rodolfo Ramirez said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
