|
Toshifumi Ogawa of the Boston Battalion put on a pitching clinic at El Paso Park, as he struck out 15 El Paso Mavericks in a 12-0 victory. Ogawa, who is tied for 2nd in the ABC with a 14.7 K/9 rate, was simply magnificent, holding the Mavericks to 4 hits. He walked 0.
"I felt okay at the beginning," Ogawa said, "but eventually my fastball really started working. I also have to thank my catcher for calling a great game."
When asked about Ogawa's performance, Battalion manager Oscar Diaz shook his head and said, "Yeah, he was good out there today. He was dominating."
So far in 9 appearances this season, Ogawa has recorded 5 wins and sustained 2 losses. He has pitched 54.1 innings, yielded 42 hits, fanned 89 and has a 2.15 ERA.
