Starting pitcher Mobumasu Tsuji was a major factor in the 5-2 Southern California Empires triumph over the Mexico City Aztecas. The winning pitcher was Tsuji, now 8-3. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 10. Dustin Underwood earned the save for Southern California, his 3rd.
Making an impact for Southern California was right fielder Riley King. He drilled a triple off Oliver McPeak in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, King went 1 for 4 with a triple. He scored 2 times.
"Solid game, solid win tonight," said a smiling Tsuji.
The 6th-place Aztecas have lost 4 straight games.
