Davis, Empires Get 14-1 Win
The home crowd had a good time watching the Newark Eagles and Southern California Empires get after it.

The Southern California Empires picked up a win at Empires Stadium, knocking off the Newark Eagles, 14-1. Starting pitcher Jason Davis was a big reason why. The Empires bumped their record to 32-21 with this latest triumph.

Davis delivered a quality start for Southern California. The 6-foot-0 right-hander allowed 1 earned run on 6 hits over 8.2 innings of work.

"Jason pitched like a champ," said Southern California manager John Andrews.
