Saskatoon had no answer for Albany Senators starter Chris Clary, who flummoxed Moose hitters as the Senators cruised to victory, 9-1. The save went to Alan Staubitz, his 4th this season. Albany now sits at 19-27, while Saskatoon falls to 23-23.
The Moose had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Senators going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 32-year old first baseman Joe Garoea came to the plate. Garoea hit a 2-run triple on a 1-1 sinker from Saskatoon hurler Chris Ness. It was Garoea's 1st triple of the year.
"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Clary.
