Fleetwings Come Up Short at Winnipeg, 5-4
|
Despite a fine performance by center fielder Ryan Rogers, the Allentown Fleetwings lost to the Winnipeg Buffaloes, 5-4. Rogers went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Reliever Mario Estrada picked up the win. His record improves to 2-3. Danny Teague, who finished 3rd in the SPBC in saves with 17 in 2004, took the loss. With the win over Allentown, the Buffaloes improved to 27-18.
The Buffaloes got a big at-bat from right fielder Chris Kayser. For the game, Kayser went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Winnipeg a 2-1 lead.
"This was a good win," said Kayser.
