Tight Tilt Goes to Capitals, 2-1

The Ottawa Capitals, behind a great outing from Pedro Hernandez, who is tied for 5th in the SPBC in strikeouts with 67, defeated the Mexico City Aztecas, 2-1, at Capitals Stadium. Chris Kaplan sewed up the save, his 7th. The second-place Capitals sport a record of 20-14.
Had Luis Vizcarra not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Vizcarra hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Capitals.
"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Hernandez.
