Fleetwings Win at Edmonton, 5-4
|
Mike Bowman had a good game, but he could not keep the Edmonton Drillers from falling, 5-4, to the Allentown Fleetwings at Drillers Field. The Edmonton designated hitter went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice in the loss. Scott Daniels, who is tied for 4th in the SPBC in strikeouts with 59, was the winner. He's now 2-1. The loser was Corey Ferrari. The win makes Allentown 15-17.
Adrian Miyares dealt the Drillers a blow in the top of the third. Batting with a runner on 3rd and Allentown leading 4-1, Miyares, who finished 4th in the SPBC in RBI with 65 in 2005, hit a 2-1 slider for a run-scoring single.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Edmonton manager George Muller said, following the tough loss.
