Admirals Lose to Newark, 8-3
Newark pitcher Jason Schiavo did his part in helping his team beat the Quebec City Admirals, 8-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Schiavo, now 5-0, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 12, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs. With the win, Newark goes to 16-5, while the Admirals fall to 10-11.

The Admirals had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Eagles going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 33-year old first baseman Eric Fales came to the plate. Fales hit a run-scoring double on a 2-1 fastball from Quebec City hurler Bill Kuhn. It was Fales's 5th double of the year.
