Edmonton pitcher William Conant had a large part in his team subduing the Mexico City Aztecas, 5-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Conant, now 1-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Josh Rouse wrapped it up, recording his 2nd save.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when second baseman Casey Bacic, who finished 3rd in the SPBC in triples with 4 last year, hit a triple. The Drillers went on to win.
