Fleetwings Victorious at Albany, 9-2
|
The Allentown Fleetwings converted a terrific effort from starter Bill Ross into a win over the Albany Senators at Senators Field. The Fleetwings won the game by a final score of 9-2. With the win, Allentown lifts its record to 5-5.
Sean Nicholson had a big 2-run double for the Fleetwings in the top of the fourth inning. With Allentown leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Andy Taylor, who led the SPBC in strikeouts with 174 last year, and swatted a double to center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Fleetwings ahead, 5-0.
"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Ross.
