Rollers Turn Back Drillers, 5-3
|
Las Vegas pitcher Jon Romano had a large part in his team beating the Edmonton Drillers, 5-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The win gives Las Vegas a record of 4-2.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Jim Crosby came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Edmonton pitcher William Conant, he hit a 2-1 splitter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Las Vegas on top, 4-3.
Crosby called the win "a collective effort."
