The Vacaville Steelheads routed the Saskatoon Moose, 17-3, at Ballpark of Vacaville. Mark Mastronardi was one of the hitting stars. He went 4-5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for Vacaville. With the loss, Saskatoon falls to 2-4.

Josh Glaser had a big 2-run home run for the Steelheads in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Vacaville leading 3-2 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a circle change from Chris Ness, who finished 3rd in the SPBC in ERA with 2.68 last year, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Steelheads on top, 5-2.

"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Vacaville skipper John Mills.
