Aztecas Spoil Opening Day for Buffaloes, Their Fans
Goldeyes Park was the site of the home opener for the Winnipeg Buffaloes. The contest featured a prime matchup between Oliver McPeak of the visiting Mexico City Aztecas and Izaiah Sanders of the Buffaloes. The final score was 5-1, the Aztecas getting the win. Oliver McPeak turned in the best performance. McPeak, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 4 walks.

The Aztecas got a big at-bat from left fielder Sam Elliott. For the game, Elliott was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Mexico City a 2-1 lead.

"I like our moxie," said Aztecas manager Zack Englund.
