New York City turned a good effort from starter Jim Johnson into a win over the Boston Shamrocks at Shamrock Grounds. The Blues won the game, 7-2. The Blues, now 2-0, have hit the ground running this season.

In his 105-pitch effort, Johnson allowed no runs on 2 hits over 7.1 innings. He walked 2 and struck out 7.

"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said New York City skipper Cole Hobson.
