Stars Marcos Thompson to Miss Year Friday, August 25th , 2006 Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Marcos Thompson of the Stars knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Tulsa Twisters while throwing a pitch. Because of a torn rotator cuff, the Arlington closer is expected to miss 7 months. Thompson was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen." Currently Thompson has 6 saves. In 25 relief appearances he has hurled 39.2 innings, struck out 44 and issued 15 walks with a 4-1 record. The Arlington reliever has recorded a 3.63 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .219 when he is on the mound. |
