Rafael Sanchez Picked ABC's Best Player Monday, October 23rd , 2006 Rafael Sanchez of the Boston Battalion had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Most Valuable Player Award for 2006. The 34-year-old third baseman put up a .390 average and a .488 on-base percentage, piling up 106 hits, 14 doubles, 2 triples, 26 home runs, 79 RBIs and 54 runs scored. He received 16 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Chad Uecker of the Houston Apollos finished second in voting, while Sam Elliott of the Albuquerque Coyotes finished third.
