Dixon Says Goodbye to Baseball Monday, October 2nd , 2006 New Orleans Buccaneers first baseman Isaiah Dixon will retire at the end of the season, according to reports out of team headquarters. Dixon, 38, has been considering retirement since last season sources say, though he has declined to speak publicly about retirement. "Isaiah still likes baseball," one source said, "He wants to play, but he also knows he's getting up in age and the skills are not what he wants them to be. He says it's physically getting harder to go out there every day. That's why he's hanging up his spikes." Lifetime in 232 games Dixon is batting .310 with 24 home runs and 110 RBIs. |
