Western Circuit Names League's Best Saturday, October 28th , 2006 Tom Smolar took Professional Baseball Circuit by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 25. For his spectacular campaign, the Denver Cutthroats star has been named the 2006 Western Circuit Hitter of the Year Award recipient. "To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the right fielder. On the season he compiled a .332 batting average to go with a .414 on-base percentage. The native of Forest City, North Carolina also added 19 doubles, 5 triples, 24 home runs, 48 RBIs and 72 runs scored. Cole Ray of the Denver Cutthroats finished second in voting, while Damani Moreno of the San Francisco Peanuts finished third. |
