The manager of the New York City Blues said he always had confidence handing the ball to Diego Rodriquez out of the bullpen.
The 30-year-old was a dominant performer all year for New York City and his efforts have been rewarded with the Eastern Circuit Reliever of the Year Award for 2006.
The bullpen ace had an impressive 2.57 ERA this season, with 16 saves in 44 relief appearances. He fanned 78 batters in 70 innings and sported a record of 6 wins and 8 losses.
