Park Takes Best Bat Award in September Sunday, October 1st , 2006 Beach balls were coming in at Howie Park in September and he banged, bashed and blasted them all over the park, putting up a .377 batting average and hauling in the Eastern Circuit Batter of the Month trophy. The 28-year-old Chicago left fielder collected 29 hits last month in 20 games. He put up 9 home runs, 25 RBIs and 17 runs scored. Park also drew 8 walks and compiled a .430 on-base percentage. This season, Park is batting .334 with 103 hits, 27 home runs, 69 RBIs, 42 walks, .420 OBP and has scored 62 runs. He has played in 86 games. |
