The Los Angeles Knights faced a tough opponent in Houston pitcher Luke Whalen, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Camelot by a final score of 3-0. Whalen went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. Los Angeles is 7th in the Western Circuit with a record of 28-34.
Devin Buchanan had a big 2-run double for the Knights in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Los Angeles leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a splitter from Luke Whalen, who is tied for 4th in the WC in strikeouts with 121, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Knights ahead, 3-0.
"Whenever I help the team," said Buchanan, "I feel like I earned my paycheck."
