Thunder Get 3-2 Win Versus Philadelphia
|
The Tampa Bay Thunder picked up a win at The Thunder Bowl, topping the Philadelphia Keystones, 3-2. On the mound for Tampa Bay was right-hander Jim Johnson. He played a principal role in the triumph. Matt Annunziato was credited with the save for Tampa Bay, his 6th of the season. The 5th-place Thunder now have a record of 36-45.
Tied up with the Keystones in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Thunder got a boost from left fielder Jhong-shun Xú. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Xú saw a 1-2 slider from Nate Kelley and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Tampa Bay on top, 1-0.
"I'm just out there trying to have as much fun as I can while I'm playing," Xú told the Tampa Bay Citizen.
