The San Francisco Peanuts reigned over the Houston Mavericks in damp conditions.
San Francisco pitcher Ron Clous had a large part in his team beating the Houston Mavericks, 6-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Clous, now 9-3, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 9, walking 4, and allowing 2 runs. Dave Kaminski, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 10th save.
Dustin Lanham, the San Francisco second baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 2-0, Peanuts. For the game, Lanham went 2-4 with 2 singles.
"I like winning," Lanham told the San Francisco News. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
