Blackhawks Turn Back Knights, 7-6
|
The Chicago Blackhawks withstood an impressive performance by Los Angeles first baseman Jose Jones to defeat the Knights, 7-6, at Trident Field. Jones was 4-5 with 4 singles. He scored 2 times. Robin Ollson picked up the win with 7.1 innings of work. He allowed 6 runs on 12 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 1-2. The victory makes Chicago 16-36.
In the bottom of the sixth, Chicago first baseman Greg Brandt gave his team the lead. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Chopper hit his 5th home run of the year. Los Angeles pitcher Jason Lightcap surrendered it. With that, the Blackhawks jumped in front, 7-5.
"We'll take this win and move on," said Brandt.
