Shamrocks Sunk by Peanuts
|
Brad Kuhlman, who is tied for 4th in the WC in quality starts with 8, had a strong outing for the San Francisco Peanuts against the Boston Shamrocks at Shamrock Grounds. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 9-1 win. The Peanuts have an impressive 27-14 record.
San Francisco won the game in part because of Chris Phillips. The center fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Peanuts ahead, 4-1. For the game, Phillips had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"I like our moxie," said Peanuts manager Larry Link.
