Jones goes 4-for-5, Leads Knights to Win
|
Los Angeles beat Philadelphia in a rain-soaked ballgame.
A 4-RBI performance from first baseman Jose Jones, who is tied for 9th in the WC in hits with 40, led the Los Angeles Knights to a win over the Philadelphia Keystones, 9-7. Los Angeles reliever Johnny Scheller picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Nate Hanson was saddled with the loss. Chris Kaplan sewed up the save, his 2nd.
Los Angeles used the hitting of Virgile Columbana to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Knights on top, 3-0. For the game, Columbana had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Jones.
The Knights improved their record to 17-19 with the win over Philadelphia.
