Win Lifts Shamrocks to 12-9
|
Boston turned a good performance from starting pitcher Mario Sanchez into a 4-2 triumph over the New York City Blues at Shamrock Grounds. Boston reliever Manny Ramirez picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Earl Dunbar was tagged with the loss. The second-place Shamrocks have won 4 consecutive games.
Had it not been for Aldomiro Calambum, the results might have been different. In the bottom of the seventh inning, when the Shamrocks were trailing 2-1, Calambum hit a 2-run single for Boston, giving his team the lead.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Boston manager Frank Guinness.
