Clous Fires No-Hitter
Excitement reigned at Las Vegas Stadium as San Francisco Peanuts hurler Ron Clous tossed a baseball rarity -- a no-hitter.

After defeating the Las Vegas Aces, 13-0, he was swamped by reporters in the clubhouse for postgame comments.

"I'm just glad to be here," Clous said. "Today I just went right at the Aces as hard as I could, as long as I could."

Clous, who is tied for 8th in the WC in innings pitched with 35.0, chalked up 14 strikeouts and allowed 3 walks in his superb performance.

"I don't think they could have stopped him with a howitzer today," said San Francisco manager Larry Link.

Thus far this season, Clous has worked 35 innings with 57 strikeouts en route to a 2-1 record and a 2.31 ERA.
