Long Beach Sources Say Hegyi Gone as Manager Saturday, November 12th , 2005 Today the Titans made an announcement: The era of Caleb Hegyi is over in Long Beach. After a disappointing season, the club officials sat down with Hegyi to discuss their decision to make a change. "It wasn't a surprise to me," Hegyi said speaking with reporters. "As a team we did not perform up to people's expectations, nor to my expectations. When that happens, someone has to take the blame. This year, that person was me." In an official statement, Titans general manager expressed gratitude for Hegyi's efforts, but confirmed the need to look for a different voice in the clubhouse. "We thank Caleb for providing class, professionalism, experience and leadership during his tenure with the club, but believe we need to make this important change to our team's management," he said. |
