3 Boomers for Hines Monday, August 29th , 2005 Seth Hines went on an explosive hitting spree against the Oil City Oilers at Boston Field today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Boston Battalion to the 19-4 win. The left fielder finished 3-for-6 with 3 runs scored and 7 runs batted in. "It was just one of those days," Hines said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Oil City skipper Randy Grant said Hines was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Seth Hines struck out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Ramon Agosto in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Kazuhiro Nakanishi in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Rafael Peralta in the 8th. This season Hines has banged out 62 hits in 250 at-bats for a .248 average with 8 home runs. He is getting on base at a .334 pace and his totals also include 34 RBIs and 34 runs scored. |
