Oilers Snap Seidenberg's Streak at 22 Saturday, August 20th , 2005 The 22-game hitting streak of Dallas Bulls first baseman Chris Seidenberg came to an end today at New Team Stadium. The Oil City Oilers held him hitless in 4 at-bats and also sent the Bulls down to defeat, 3-2. Later, Seidenberg acknowledged to BNN reporters that the hit streak meant something to him. "It was special," he said, "but I think other people make a bigger deal out of it than I do, or the players do. It was what we're all supposed to do; go out and hit the ball and try to score runs. It was a cool deal, but it's over now. Let's try to start a new one." Seidenberg is hitting .379 for the season with 13 home runs, 30 RBIs and 33 runs scored. He has 64 hits in 169 at-bats and played in 45 games. |
